Building Trust and Unity in a New Department

Client: Novo Nordisk A/S

Following a large-scale reorganization, five biotech teams from different parts of the organization faced the challenge of uniting into a new cohesive department.

With differing workflows and priorities, the reorganization created new operational challenges and a need to revise previously existing priorities. The client needed a solution to align the team, build trust, and foster a shared sense of purpose.

Solution:

I designed a customized workshop to tackle these challenges with creativity and precision.

The session began with an interactive puzzle game that mirrored the complexity of reorganization, helping the team understand the value of shared strategy.

Through tailored exercises, participants identified key drivers of success and mapped their individual strengths to team goals. A discussion on change behaviors and stress reactions introduced tools for navigating pressure and building trust. By the end of the day, the team had collaboratively designed small experiments to test new ways of working, giving them ownership of the change process.

Outcome:

  • Improved alignment on shared priorities, creating a starting point for building their new department.
  • Greater trust and empathy through open dialogue and shared vulnerability.
  • A practical roadmap for implementing new ways of working, crafted collaboratively.
  • Increased team engagement and enthusiasm, creating momentum for ongoing success.

Testimonial:

I am so happy for the impact hat you have had on our department so far and with all the ongoing experiments you will leave a huge fingerprint on us forming the best place to perform and grow.
