Fostering a Feedback Culture in Growing Teams

Client: FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies

A biotech company experiencing rapid growth faced the challenge of integrating many new team members into three fluid teams. The organization, known for its strong human values and prioritizing trust, personal strengths, and behaviors over processes, needed to enhance self-awareness and establish a feedback culture to maintain cohesion and collaboration.

With team members already familiar with working style preferences, the client sought a workshop that would deepen their understanding and provide practical tools for fostering effective feedback.

Solution:

I designed a half-day workshop module as part of the client’s learning journey and built on their existing foundation in working style preferences using INSIGHTS Discovery. The session introduced the role of feedback as a critical link between team values, behaviors, and results.

Participants explored how individual preferences impact feedback styles, fostering a nuanced understanding of each other’s working styles.

Through interactive exercises, the teams practiced giving and receiving feedback in ways that felt meaningful and actionable. This structured yet creative approach built trust, encouraged open dialogue, and equipped participants with tools to proactively use feedback as a driver of collaboration and engagement.

Outcome:

  • Strengthened team trust and cohesion through open and structured feedback conversations.
  • A shared understanding of feedback preferences, enhancing collaboration and mutual respect.
  • Practical tools and strategies to confidently apply feedback in real-world scenarios.
  • Increased engagement and ownership of personal and team development.
